Trade terms and conditions

These terms govern every order placed through this site. By placing an order you accept them on behalf of the business named on your trade account.

Who we sell to

We supply approved trade buyers only. There is no public storefront: products and prices are visible once an application has been approved and you are signed in. We assess each application by hand and may decline one without giving reasons.

You confirm that you buy for resale in the course of business, and that the registration and VAT numbers you gave us are correct. Tell us if they change, because they appear on your tax invoices.

Prices and VAT

All prices are in South African rand and shown per unit excluding VAT. Value added tax at 15% is added once, to goods plus delivery, and is shown separately before you place the order and again on your invoice.

Prices are read live from our catalogue each time your cart is displayed, so a price may change before you order. The price you pay is the one shown on the order confirmation.

Minimums and pack sizes

Each product carries its own minimum order quantity and pack size. The minimum applies to each line on its own: four lines of six units do not satisfy a minimum of twelve. Where a quantity you enter is below the minimum, or is not a whole number of packs, we raise it to the next acceptable quantity and show you that we have done so.

Payment

Orders are paid in full by electronic funds transfer before anything is dispatched. We do not offer credit, accounts, or payment terms of any kind, and we do not take card payment at checkout.

Use the payment reference shown on the order, otherwise we cannot match your payment. Nothing is picked or dispatched until the full amount reflects in our account and a colleague has confirmed it against our bank statement.

Because no credit is extended and no interest, fee or early-settlement discount applies, these are not credit agreements under the National Credit Act 34 of 2005.

Stock and cancellation

You cannot order more of a line than we show as available, and the stock for your order is held for you the moment you place it. Recorded figures can still differ from what is physically on the shelf, so where we cannot supply a line in full we will contact you and refund that line.

We may cancel an order before dispatch, in which case we refund in full. Once an order has been dispatched, the returns policy applies. [to confirm: whether a buyer may cancel a paid order before picking begins]

Title and risk

Ownership of the goods passes to you once we have received payment in full. Risk passes on delivery to you or to your nominated carrier.

Your rights in law

Chapter VII of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, which gives a seven-day cooling-off right, applies to natural persons buying as the end user. It does not reach a company, close corporation or trust. If you trade as a sole proprietor you are a natural person and those rights apply to you.

The Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 excludes juristic customers whose annual turnover or asset value is R2 million or more. Below that threshold a juristic customer remains a protected consumer under that Act. This is why we ask for your business type and turnover band when you apply: it tells us which rules govern your account.

Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under South African law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by South African law, and the South African courts have jurisdiction.
